Appliance Updates

How Updates Work

TLSOps checks for a new release on startup and periodically in the background. When an update is available, the dashboard shows a notification banner. Updates are applied as atomic bundle replacements — the new bundle is downloaded, its signature is verified, and then binaries are swapped. The management service restarts automatically after a successful update.

Checking Your Current Version

The current version is shown in the footer of the dashboard.

Applying an Update

When an update is available:

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon in the top right)
  2. Under the Appliance Updates card, click Install latest update
  3. Confirm the prompt — TLSOps downloads, verifies, and installs the update
  4. Services restart automatically and the dashboard reloads once healthy

After an Update

  • The license is re-validated automatically on startup. If the licensing server is temporarily unreachable, the cached license is used for up to 5 days — plan features are not lost due to a momentary connectivity issue during an update
  • All configuration data (routing rules, device assignments, VPN configs) is preserved across updates
  • If the update fails mid-installation, the previous version remains running — no partial state is left
