Terms of Service
Last updated: April 13, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing tlsops.com or using the TLSOps Home software ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
TLSOps Home is a software-defined network gateway that runs on customer-owned hardware. It provides DNS-based traffic management, per-device VPN routing, ad blocking, and parental controls. The Service includes:
- The TLSOps software appliance (self-hosted on your hardware)
- A license key that unlocks software features
- A licensing server for key validation
- This website and documentation
- Separate third-party open-source components that TLSOps installs or orchestrates, such as sing-box and AdGuard Home, each under its own license
3. License & Usage
3.1 License Grant
Upon activation, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the TLSOps-owned proprietary portions of the TLSOps software on hardware you own or control. Paid plans (Starter, Pro, Ultimate) require a valid license key activated through the TLSOps licensing service. The Free plan does not require activation.
This commercial license governs TLSOps-owned code, website content, documentation, branding, and licensing features. It does not replace, narrow, or override rights granted to you under any applicable third-party open-source license.
3.2 Restrictions
You may not:
- Share, redistribute, or resell your TLSOps license key
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the TLSOps-owned proprietary portions of the Service, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by applicable law or does not apply to separate third-party open-source components
- Remove or alter TLSOps proprietary notices or labels
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to bypass or circumvent the TLSOps licensing system
3.3 Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Conduct, facilitate, or promote any illegal activity
- Launch or relay network attacks, including denial-of-service, port scanning, or packet injection
- Route traffic in violation of applicable laws or regulations
- Interfere with, disrupt, or degrade the operation of the Service, the licensing infrastructure, or any third-party network
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security or access-control feature of the Service
- Engage in any other conduct that, in our reasonable judgment, restricts or inhibits the use of the Service by others or exposes TLSOps to legal liability
3.4 Hardware Binding
Your license key is bound to the hardware it first activates on. If validation later reports a hardware binding mismatch, TLSOps marks that appliance as requiring a hardware reset before the license can be used there again.
3.5 Open-Source Components
TLSOps interoperates with, and in some install flows downloads, separate third-party open-source programs such as sing-box and AdGuard Home. Those components are licensed to you by their respective authors under their own license terms, not by TLSOps under these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms limits or overrides rights granted under any applicable third-party open-source license. Current notices, installer-targeted component versions, and upstream source links are published on the Open Source Notices page.
4. Subscriptions & Billing
4.1 Plans
TLSOps has four public plans. The Free plan is free forever. Starter, Pro, and Ultimate are recurring subscription plans available on a monthly or yearly billing cycle. Yearly subscriptions are billed as an annual lump sum. Pricing is displayed on our pricing page and may change with 30 days' notice.
4.2 Payment
All payments are processed by Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable subscription fee. You are responsible for keeping your payment method current.
4.3 Free Plan
You can install TLSOps on the Free plan without payment setup and remain on Free indefinitely. If you later need more capacity, you can validate a Starter, Pro, or Ultimate license key you already have from the dashboard Activation screen.
4.4 Refunds
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on your first paid subscription. If you are not satisfied, contact support within 7 days of your initial purchase to request a full refund. Refund requests are handled manually and may require order verification. This guarantee applies once per customer and does not extend to subsequent subscription purchases or plan changes. We reserve the right to deny refunds in cases of abuse or fraud.
Nothing in this Section limits any mandatory statutory withdrawal, cancellation, refund, conformity, or other consumer rights available to you under applicable law.
4.5 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access to paid plan features continues until the end of the current billing period, subject to successful license validation before that date. After the subscription ends and the locally cached validation expires, the appliance automatically falls back to Free plan limits. Your network remains operational throughout — TLSOps does not take your network offline on subscription end.
5. Self-Hosted Nature
The TLSOps appliance runs entirely on your hardware. You are responsible for:
- Providing and maintaining the hardware/VM
- Network configuration and security of your host machine
- Keeping the appliance software updated
- Backups of your configuration
We do not have access to, nor are we responsible for, the traffic passing through your appliance.
6. Availability & Support
The licensing server is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. After activation, TLSOps caches the validated license locally. If the licensing service is temporarily unreachable after a recent validation, the appliance can keep using that validated status for up to 5 days. If that validated license cannot be refreshed after expiry, TLSOps downgrades the appliance to free-plan limits.
Support is provided through the support inbox. TLSOps does not offer a service-level agreement (SLA), guaranteed response times, or dedicated support channels, and support is handled on a reasonable-efforts basis.
7. Intellectual Property
Except for third-party open-source components and rights granted under their applicable licenses, all rights, title, and interest in and to the TLSOps-owned software, website, documentation, trademarks, branding, and licensing service are and remain the exclusive property of TLSOps. These Terms grant you a limited usage license only — no ownership, intellectual property rights, or implied licenses are transferred.
Without limiting Section 3.2, you may not create derivative works based on TLSOps-owned proprietary code, sublicense TLSOps-owned proprietary software to any third party, or use TLSOps trademarks or branding without prior written consent. These restrictions do not narrow any separate rights you may have under applicable third-party open-source licenses.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TLSOPS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR GOODWILL, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, AND WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your license immediately for cause, including but not limited to: breach of these Terms, violation of the Acceptable Use Policy (Section 3.3), fraudulent or abusive conduct, non-payment of subscription fees, unlawful use of the Service, or conduct that poses a security, legal, or operational risk to the Service, other users, or third parties.
We may also discontinue the Service on prior notice. Unless a shorter period is required by law, security concerns, or a third-party dependency outside our control, discontinuation will take effect no earlier than the end of your current paid billing period. If we end a paid subscription before the end of a billing period for reasons other than your breach, we will provide a prorated refund for the unused portion.
Upon termination, your right to use TLSOps-owned paid or proprietary software features and the TLSOps licensing service ceases immediately. Termination under these Terms does not, by itself, terminate rights you may separately have under applicable third-party open-source licenses. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including limitation of liability and intellectual property — will survive.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. The courts of Stockholm, Sweden shall have jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
If you are a consumer, nothing in this Section limits any mandatory consumer protections available under the law of your country of residence, or your right, where applicable law permits, to bring proceedings in that country.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the website at least 30 days before taking effect, unless a shorter period is required by law or to address security, fraud, or technical issues.
Material changes that adversely affect your rights or obligations will apply prospectively and, for active paid subscriptions, no earlier than your next renewal date unless earlier application is required by law. If you do not agree to a material change, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect without penalty.
